Job Description
Position: Master Control Operator
Classification: Hourly
Reports to: Facility Administrator
General Information
The Master Control Operator is responsible for driving the daily schedule by communicating with staff when it’s safe, clear, and time to make transitions throughout the facility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Drive the daily schedule by communicating with staff members when it is safe, clear, and time to make transitions throughout the facility.
- Help YCW/YSO’s and Shift Supervisors hold residents accountable by communicating any unsafe or prohibited behavior seen on camera from the control room.
- Announce to staff members when it is time for a formal count of all residents.
- Document the location of each resident during formal counts.
- Announce to staff members when movement is on hold for any reason.
- Pay attention at all times.
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with all staff members when there is a code or an issue that requires assistance.
- Must have good situational awareness and the ability to multitask fluidly. Must always know who is requesting to transition and who will be going through each door.
- Answer and direct phone calls after hours and/or when the receptionist is not present.
- Assist with and monitor resident phone calls when applicable.
- Accurately record all radios and keys as they are passed out and returned, including times and locations.
- Help to ensure the overall success of Wayne Halfway House, Inc. by performing all other duties as assigned.
- Assist with getting residents to group and activities.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with juveniles in a residential setting preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must pass a drug test.
