Summary
As a Correctional Officer at Wayne Halfway House, Inc., you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security within our residential facilities. This position is essential to our mission of supporting at-risk youth as they navigate their rehabilitation journey.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and security of residents within the facility while traveling.
- Implement behavior management techniques to address conflicts and encourage positive behavior.
- Duties:
1. Provide transportation for clients daily to scheduled medical, dental, or court appointments.
2. Keep transportation logs of all transports.
3. Participate in reporting and handling of crisis situations.
4. Be knowledgeable in knowing how to handle transports in an emergency and/ or issues arise.
5. Maintain discipline following State guidelines.
6. Monitor residents for a safe environment both inside/outside of the facility.
7. Follow all applicable Policies and Procedures of Wayne Halfway House, Inc.
8. Participate in the PQI Program as requested.
9. Demonstrate competence in cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity.
10. Maintain all required training provided by the Facility.
11. Maintain a clean driving record and valid Driver's License.
12. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Security and Security Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience: A Transporter must be 21 years of age with a High School Diploma / GED; must have a clear Motor Vehicle Record and a valid TN Driver's License. One year experience working in a children's services program is preferred not required. CORRECTIONS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
