General Responsibilities: To provide care to residents in the facility, following all criteria set forth by the State Manual, Security Supervisor, and the Director of Security with the implementation of the rules and policies set by the State of Tennessee.
Oversee that meals, recreation, showers, medication, and phone calls are being done in the timely manner allotted. Ensure that if a new resident comes in on shift, that their linens, pillows, hygiene items ready for them to use as soon as they arrive.
Duties:
1. Perform intake on new residents and keep daily logs.
2. Participate in reporting and handling of crisis situations while maintaining discipline following State guidelines.
3. Establish good rapport with residents and teach Independent Living Skills.
4. Provide transportation for residents if needed and maintain knowledge of community resources.
5. Monitor residents for a safe environment at the facility.
6. Coordinate staff on medication issuance.
7. Provide mentoring and training while ensuring that YSO's are working within the guidelines of the therapeutic milieu to provide support to residents.
8. Give performance reviews of all YSO's of your shift.
9. Ensure that all staff conducts themselves in a firm, no-offensive, professional manner on shift.
10. Responsible for holding staff accountable for their actions or lack of action.
11. Ensure that counts are being done on radios and keys (supervisor, vehicles, etc.). THIS IS TO BE DONE ON EVERY SHIFT DAILY! NO EXCEPTION!
12. Follow all applicable Policies and Procedures of Wayne Halfway House, Inc.
13. Participate in the PQI program as requested.
14. Demonstrate competency in cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity.
15. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by Security Supervisor or Director of Security.
Qualifications and Experience: Must be at least 21 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED. An associate degree with emphasis in working with children and one (5) year experience working with children's services program is preferred; however, two (2) years' experience working in a residential setting may be submitted.
