Primary Objective of the Position: Assist the Head Coach in the sport so designated, to help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, and appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Teach the skills and fundamentals as directed by the Head Coach.
- Provide assistance to the Head Coach on player utilization and game plans.
- Be knowledgeable regarding rules of the sport.
- Aid in supervision of players.
- Meet and confer with the Head Coach at times and places deemed appropriate by the Head Coach.
- Be available for scouting as deemed necessary by the Head Coach.
- Assist in all pre-season and post-season activities and responsibilities.
- Aid in the enforcement of training rules and squad policies adopted for the team.
- Knowledgeable of and practice good techniques in the care and treatment of injuries.
- Carry out all duties assigned by the Head Coach and support the coaching philosophy and system installed.
- Conduct self and team in an ethical manner during contest and practice.
- Regularly attend all athletic events and practice sessions.
- Demonstrate organization and professionalism in fulfilling the responsibilities of the job.
- Greet all students, faculty, staff, and visitors courteously.
- Maintain a positive rapport with students, staff, parents and the community.
- Cooperate with and work in a courteous manner with co-workers and other personnel.
- Dress appropriately for the position and work required.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward school, students and job and communicate the same to the community.
- Accept constructive criticism and suggestions and seek to improve each performance responsibility.
- Maintain confidentiality in the school operation.
- Adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, board policies and administrative rules.
Work Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: walking, standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; lifting items above twenty-five pounds. Physical actions may include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending at the waist. The job requires regular walking, talking, and standing and potentially sitting. The job is performed regularly indoors with occasional exposure to seasonal temperatures and natural elements; subject to moderate to loud student, campus and environment noise; subject to frequent interruptions and contact with employees and students; minimal use of computer keyboard, mouse and other basic technological devices. This position is not eligible for remote work.
Terms of Employment: Wages are to be determined by the board.
