What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inpatient Dept - Monitor Tech - Casual position at Wayne Hospital Company?
Position:
The position will be casual as needed. The person in this position would work during the hours of 7AM – 7:30PM or 7PM – 7:30AM
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, computer and typing skills preferred
- Unit clerk/secretarial experience preferred
- Successful completion of Basic ECG class is required
- CPR certification preferred within 6 months of hire
Responsibilities:
- Perform ongoing surveillance of patients’ cardiac monitors, cardiac rhythm and vital signs.
- Notify nursing caregivers of changes in cardiac rhythm and/or hemodynamics that could impact the patient’s condition.
- Interpret patient’s cardiac rhythm and document in the patient’s electronic medical record.
- Hand off report to the oncoming shift.
- Perform unit clerk duties and all other duties as assigned.
- Clerical/Monitor Tech is under the direction and supervision of the Unit director and House Supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a fast paced environment under moderate pressure, multi-task with accuracy to keep track of multiple patients. This requires long periods of sitting and watching computer monitors.
Visual acuity for observing cardiac monitor data.
