Job Description
The Lead Cardiovascular Technician operates within the hospital’s mission, philosophy, goals, values and objectives. The Lead assumes 24-hour accountability for department management and quality of patient care in conjunction with the Director and Manager. The Lead creates and maintains a work environment conducive to effective communication, collaboration, team building and professionalism. The LCT assures that care provided is appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in his/her assigned department and that staff competency requirements include age-specific components. Maintains positive physician and interdepartmental/intradepartmental relations as well as positive employee morale.
Provides direct patient care according to his/her licensure as part of the hands-on care team. Ensures the highest level of care for patients. Ensures that all services provided meet regulatory requirements and guidelines. Manages all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment. Promotes a collaborative practice with other health care disciplines to assure an integrated approach to care of the patient.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or an approved school of radiologic technology.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Pennsylvania ;or certification as an ARRT
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification preferred;
- 5 years clinical experience in diagnostic and/or interventional cardiac catheterization lab required
- ACLS/Professional BLS certifications required on hire, or prior to completion of orientation;
- Demonstrated leadership skills and supervisory experience preferred;
- Strong understanding of Meditech EMR functions preferred;
- Participates in educational conferences and updates and maintains professional knowledge and skills related to areas of responsibility;
- Available to fulfill “on-call” obligations-response less than 30 minutes as requested;
- Demonstrates clinical competence in basic cardiac physiology/pathology, 12-Lead EKG interpretation; physiologic monitoring (intra cardiac pressure waveform knowledge), pacemaker operations (implantable and external) and other radiographic equipment related to cardiac care.
