Job Description
Full time: Days plus call. Candidate will perform the primary function of facilitator, teacher and resource person in assessing, planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating staff on designated units on a 24-hour basis. Performs clinical functions on an “as needed” basis.
Job Requirements
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure in the State of Pennsylvania; Knowledge of clinical areas that are supervised; Knowledge of principles of adult education and managing people; Must possess or be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or related field; Must pursue programs of Continuing Education that will update and maintain professional knowledge and skills related to the management of units.
Physical Standards: (when not functioning as Head Nurse follows duties and physical standards of R.N.)
Constantly: (Exists 75% or more of the time) Pushing and pulling 0-15 lbs.; repetitive paper work.
Frequently: (Exists 25-75% of the time) Standing; sitting with back support; reaching (forward, lateral); operating machinery; exposure to radiation.
Occasionally: (Exists 5- 25% of the time) Walking; reaching (overhead, low); stooping (bend at waist); crouching (bend at knees); kneeling; climbing; twisting; balance; lifting and carrying 0-25 lbs.; pushing and pulling 15-40 lbs.; exposure to chemical hazards, infect hazards, slippery surfaces.
Rarely: (Exists under 5% of the time) Pushing and carrying 25-40 lbs.; pushing and pulling 75-100 lbs. (help is available); exposure to moving machinery.
Sensory Requirements Visual: close paperwork, visual monotony; Hearing: conversation, monitoring equipment, telephone, background noise.
