Job Description
Prepares patients and equipment for therapy, assists physical therapist, and administers patient treatment under supervision of a physical therapist.
Job Requirements
Requires an associate’s degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant; Must be PA registration eligible.
Physical Standards:
Constantly: (Exists 75% or more of the time) Standing; walking; repetitive: always in motion.
Frequently: (Exists 25-75% of the time) Sitting with back support; reaching (overhead, forward, lateral, low); stooping (bend at waist); crouching (bend at knees); kneeling; climbing; twisting; balance; lifting and carrying 0-25 lbs.; pushing and pulling 0 - >100 lbs. (help is available 75 - >100 lbs.); operating motor vehicles, machinery; exposure to chemical hazards, infect hazards, moving machinery, slippery surfaces.
Occasionally: (Exists 5- 25% of the time) Lifting and carrying 25 - >100 lbs. (help is available 75-100 lbs.).
Rarely: (Exists under 5% of the time) Crawling.
Sensory Requirements Visual: close paperwork, VDT used, color vision required; Hearing: conversation, monitoring equipment, telephone, background noise; Sensory Discrimination.
