Job Description:
Wayne Metro seeks a lively and creative individual with a passion for social media, content
creation, and event coordination. This internship provides hands-on experience in both digital
media and event execution, offering an excellent opportunity to develop skills in marketing,
storytelling, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the
Communications Department to create, develop, and publish content while assisting with
special events and internal engagement initiatives.
Intern Responsibilities:
Social Media & Content Creation (50%)
● Develop, write, and publish content across various platforms, including social media,
website, blogs, email campaigns, and presentations.
● Execute social media strategies aligned with best practices across channels such as
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
● Capture and edit video/photo content for digital storytelling.
● Collaborate with the Graphic Designer, Social Media Specialist, and Communications
Manager on creative projects.
● Assist in developing and executing the Comms Street Team, an internal group promoting
our communications strategy.
Event Coordination (50%)
● Support the planning, promotion, and execution of internal and external events, including
community outreach, program launches, and agency celebrations.
● Consult with department representatives to create marketing plans and strategies for
event promotion.
● Coordinate logistics, including event setup, vendor communication, and on-site support.
● Capture event content for social media and digital platforms.
● Provide post-event evaluations and reports to assess effectiveness.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates:

Obtaining a degree in communications, video production, marketing, or any other related field.

Passionate about content development and social media strategy

Ability to develop and manage creative strategy from start to finish
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a professional office environment with a usually quiet noise level. This is largely a sedentary role and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, frequently use hands and to talk or hear.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/general education degree (GED) OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.
