Job Description
The Sanitation Supervisor oversees the day-to-day sanitation activities in a poultry processing facility, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. This role requires leadership skills to direct and evaluate the sanitation team, promoting a safe and sanitary environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee sanitation employees to ensure adherence to cleaning procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA, and FDA guidelines.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain a food-safe environment, following all specifications and USDA requirements.
- Enforce strict safety regulations, including OSHA, FSIS, USDA, and HACCP standards.
- Mentor and train employees to develop their skills, providing constructive feedback on performance improvements.
- Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions fairly and consistently.
- Conduct regular audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn in designated areas and promote a zero-accident culture.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Leadership Qualities

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
- HACCP Certification preferred.
- Minimum three years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in poultry production.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including conflict resolution and policy adherence.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, poultry processing, food safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, GMP, and HACCP.
- Good computer skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Safety and Physical Requirements
- Familiarity with departmental and company safety policies and programs.
- Able to work extended shifts, including holidays, weekends, and overtime.
- Able to work in cold, humid, or hot, dusty environments.
- Able to stand and move throughout the facility during shifts.
- Able to work around live or raw animal odors.
