What are the responsibilities and job description for the Broiler Field Representative position at Wayne-Sanderson Farms?
PRIMARY FUNCTION : Primarily responsible for overseeing broiler farms as a Company representative to contracted growers. The role monitors house conditions and bird welfare and provides technical assistance and recommendations on improving conditions, grower performance, and cost reductions for the company and growers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS :
- Act as liaison between Company and contract growers providing technical advice to growers on company expectations (i.e. building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, farm sanitation, industry best practices, policies, procedures, bio security, etc.)
- Provide chick placement, catch and feed withdrawal times to growers
- Monitor assigned flocks (i.e. bird comfort, equipment settings, etc.) to ensure producers comply with all company policies and procedures, regulatory guidelines and federal and State policies, regulations and laws when handling poultry; report noncompliance and / or abnormalities to appropriate personnel
- Track, analyze and record bird mortality rates, communicating anomalies to appropriate personnel as needed
- Maintain feed tank inventories ordering feed and coordinating deliveries to ensure proper feed is delivered to growers in a timely manner
- Follow and promote all safety initiatives helping to maintain a zero accident culture
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
