Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct daily maintenance operations for the feed mill, ensuring equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
- Plan, schedule, and assign maintenance tasks to team members, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on feed mill equipment and machinery.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, including OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory of spare parts.
- Train and develop maintenance staff, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to operational standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize disruption.
- Collaborate with feed mill management and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and support production goals.
- Manage maintenance budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of tools, equipment, and facilities within the feed mill.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of maintenance experience in a feed mill, agricultural production, or manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and feed mill operations.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment (e.g., conveyors, motors, pumps, mixers).
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping, reporting, and inventory management.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
