SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to support engineering initiatives related to product design, testing/evaluation, and quality assurance. He/she will work closely with a product engineer, CAD Administrator, and/or Sr. Lab Technician to complete assigned projects. Project work will include NPD, product enhancement, cost reduction, performance/endurance qualification testing, and other related activities. This role will be a blend of computer work using CAD/MS Office tools and laboratory work. This position will report into the Product Engineering team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop products/components that meet targeted customer requirements from defined specifications
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks in support of Engineering Change and NPD initiatives
  • Complete performance, endurance and other functional tests on new, existing and field returned product
  • Support engineers with tolerance stack-up and other analysis such as stress/strength calculations
  • Develop Proof of Concept prototypes using 3D printed parts, in-house tools, or outsourced supplier as required
  • Support Manufacturing and Quality Engineers in production and supply chain issues
  • Represent Product Engineering on cross-functional teams/activities as assigned
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Participation in a BS Engineering degree program
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, sit as needed to complete assigned tasks
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Work, Excel, and Outlook are preferred
  • Available to work normal office hours Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (1-hour lunch)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills

Must have a valid Driver License and be able to drive automobile.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently

REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to solve daily operational issues.
