Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Coordinator - Summer and Special Events , C2 Pipeline - College of Nursing at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):
Oversee and coordinate all summer programing including hiring of part-time summer staff on campus which will include day camps and our residential camp – and will stay on campus for the residential program. Supervision of part time WSU employees and outside contractors within their area of responsibility.
Unique duties:
Responsible for the oversight and coordination of both summer day camp and residential camp programs, grantee wide events and youth/parent/community engagement for the C2 Pipeline program, including the supervision of part time WSU employees and outside contractors within their area of responsibility. Assist the Associate Project Director, Operations in the development and planning of programs.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five years’ experience in an early childhood setting and seven years working in an urban 21st CCLC learning program at the administrative level.
- Knowledge of K-12 curriculum and learning objectives.
- Knowledge of 21st CCLC afterschool enrichment programs in an urban setting acquired through the completion of a bachelor degree and a minimum of two years’ experience managing a K-12 after school enrichment program in a site or in lieu of a bachelor degree.
Experience: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)
- Experience training and supervising teachers, student teachers, tutors, interns, and contractors is required.
- Experience in the development and implementation of new or innovative programs is preferred
- Experience with MDE 21st CCLC required evaluation and systems, with include EZ Reports, YPQA and MEGS ( ).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Supervisory Skills: Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train staff and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among staff members. Proven ability to manage and train a diverse staff including outside contractors.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and deal effectively with others. Ability to handle a variety of circumstances with tact and diplomacy and in a confidential manner. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all school systems personnel is required.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and monitor workflow. Ability to effectively coordinate program employees and participants to achieve desired results.
- Business Acumen: Understands the objectives and mission of the grant; looks for ways to improve processes and quality.
