We are searching for an experienced Faculty - Rank to be Determined - Department of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology Chief at our Detroit campus location.

Essential Functions (Job Duties) :
- Provide leadership to the Gastroenterology Division by serving as Division Chief through creating and implementing mentoring and career development plans for new and current faculty, and serving as a role model for colleagues, students, residents, fellows, and faculty.
- Recruit, energize, and retain high caliber faculty, staff, and trainees in a manner consistent with the Division's core mission of education, research, and service.
- Develop a plan for allocation of new resources to cultivate a hypothesis-driven research program that is relevant to the local Detroit / Southeastern Michigan region, by achieving extramural funding.
- Provide responsible fiscal stewardship along with the Department Chair, and proactively seek entrepreneurial opportunities for the division.
- Participate in the teaching program of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in research activities within the Department.
- Publish peer-reviewed literature as author and co-author.
- Participate in scholarly activities in the area of Gastroenterology.
- Participate in service assignments of importance to the Department, the School of Medicine, and the University.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned.
