Essential functions (job duties):
The Department of Neurology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine is seeking applicants for faculty position in Neuromuscular Diseases. The appointment will be at Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. For qualified physician scientists in neuromuscular diseases, the candidate will be offered a startup package, tenured position and laboratory space if needed. Responsibilities will include:
Participate in neuromuscular diseases research opportunities including clinical trials
Participate in educational programs of the Department of Neurology for medical students, residents and Clinical Neurophysiology fellows
Participate in conferences and seminars of the Department of Neurology.
Perform other work related duties as assigned by Chair or his designee.
Unique duties:
Scientific research in neuromuscular diseases.
Qualifications:
M.D. or D.O. degree required.
Valid Michigan medical license.
Rank commensurate with credentials.
Board certified/board eligible in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology or Neuromuscular medicine by ABPN.
Preferred qualifications:
Excellent publications and research funds.
