EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
- Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Understanding of database design, ability to analyze and extract data stored in a relational database.
- Scripting skills PERL, Java Script, VB Script.

JOB GOAL :
Works closely with our multiple database infrastructure, provides broad and integrated application programming / scripting and manages support for district wide schools systems. The Systems Analyst will also work with Dbase SQL to support reporting using various in-house programs in a school system environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Extensive knowledge of relational databases, database design and best practices, data quality concepts and solutions, and the SQL language.Provide functional development as well as participate in the planning, designing and testing of school and personnel data reports.Identify opportunities to fine tune and optimize database applications.Experience with Crystal reporting tools V10 is preferred.Understanding of any of the following is an added plus : Enterprise Manager SQL, SQL Query analyzer.Provides advanced applications support for district-wide, mission-critical computing affecting all administration and schools; plans, coordinates, integrates, tests, implements, and manages applications and system interfaces.Develops new and maintains existing complex and critical applications and sub-applications; ensures reliability of cross-district applications and services.Interprets information and informally arbitrates between system users when conflicts exist.Reviews design, analysis, and code for quality and adherence to standards.Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, Updates and / or systems.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Ability to participate in meetings with technical experts, various levels of management, and external consultants.Comprehensive knowledge of multiple computing systems, applications, and architectures.Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.In-depth knowledge of and leadership expertise in one or more computer languages and / or databases.Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.Conflict resolution and / or mediation skills.Ability to plan and manage significant technical projects.Ability to assess and maintain quality of programming structure, design, and coding.Ability to plan, design, coordinate installation, test, and modify complex systems and subsystems.Ability to specify and develop computer programs using a range of programming languages.Knowledge of computer flow charts and of programming logic and codes.Ability to determine complex computer problems and to coordinate hardware / software solutions.Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise.Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) required.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Manages the technical components of AchieveNJ and Frontline Professional Growth.Administers all aspects of the district's Student Information System, Teacher / Principal Evaluation System and other district-wide database systems.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
ANNUAL EVALUATION :
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on the evaluation of non-certificated staff.
