DESCRIPTION
Perform a variety of mechanical repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of the Wayne Transports, Inc. vehicles, and any other vehicles that are brought into service. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
RESPONSBILITIES :
Works under limited supervision and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn damaged parts.
- Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles.
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades.
- Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies.
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Verifies vehicle performance.
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
