Job Overview:
The Camp Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the private country clubs camp program, ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching experience for 50 children ages 5-10 years. This role involves managing a team of 6 camp counselors, coordinating activities, supervising children, and ensuring the smooth operation of the camp from start to finish. The camp will offer a variety of activities, including golf and tennis lessons in the morning, and swimming in the afternoon.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of camp counselors.
- Ensure counselors are trained and prepared for their roles and responsibilities.
- Act as the main point of contact for parents, providing regular updates on camp activities and addressing any concerns.

Camp Program Development:
- Plan, design, and implement age-appropriate activities and programs that align with the clubs values (e.g., arts & crafts, sports, team-building games).
- Incorporate golf and tennis lessons from our Pros into the daily schedule, ensuring children receive quality instruction and enjoy these activities.
- Organize afternoon swimming sessions, ensuring proper safety measures are in place and that campers have a fun and safe experience in the pool.
- Create a weekly schedule that integrates morning and afternoon activities, balancing sports, recreational time, and free play.

Health, Safety & Well-being:
- Maintain a safe environment by enforcing camp policies and safety guidelines.
- Supervise daily routines, including check-in/check-out procedures, mealtimes, and restroom breaks.
- Ensure all water safety protocols are followed during swimming activities.
- Address and document any accidents or incidents, ensuring that all necessary forms are completed and submitted.

Staff Management:
- Manage the training of counselors, ensuring they are equipped to handle all camp activities and supervise children.
- Provide ongoing guidance, support, and evaluation of camp staff.
- Foster a positive and team-oriented camp culture.

Communication & Parent Engagement:
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their childs progress and any special needs or concerns.
- Handle any parent inquiries or concerns with professionalism and sensitivity.

Administration & Reporting:
- Maintain daily camp attendance and report any discrepancies.
- Monitor camp budgets, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
- Prepare post-camp reports, summarize program activities, successes, and areas for improvement.
Working Conditions:
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours during the 8-week camp season, Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4 pm from June 16th to August 15th, no camp the week of June 30th.
- Environment: The role is based indoors and outdoors with the base of camp in the Clubhouse.
- Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, $25-$35/ hour.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in camp management or related leadership roles, preferably with children in a recreational setting.
- Education: A college degree in education, recreation management, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification required. Lifeguard certification is a plus.
