Paraprofessionals (Waypoint Academy)

We are seeking Paraprofessionals for Waypoint Academy, a Collaborative public day school in South Yarmouth. Experience with students with disabilities and / or behavioral challenges is preferred. The Cape Cod Collaborative offers a positive team approach for professional growth and development. We are seeking applicants with a willingness to learn and grow in the field of special education. Working in partnership with area colleges and universities, the Collaborative supports a pathway to teacher licensure in moderate or severe special education. The Collaborative supports students with significant learning challenges by supporting student strengths and building independence.

• Waypoint Academy in South Yarmouth is an alternative education setting supporting middle and high school students with behavior, social and learning challenges.

Paraprofessional responsibilities:

• Work with students on academics, social skills, life skills, activities of daily living, and vocational tasks;
• Ability to work in a team format;
• Ability to physically handle interventions with students and / or lifting, students with significant needs;
• Ability to work with students with behavioral challenges;
• Demonstration of positive communication skills;
