The Cape Cod Collaborative has openings for Special Education Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year.
The Cape Cod Collaborative operates public day schools for students with significant learning challenges, utilizing a highly-specialized team approach to support student strengths and help build independence. This is a challenging, yet rewarding opportunity to learn and grow professionally.
Waypoint Academy (South Yarmouth) supports students in middle and high school in an alternative school setting. The Collaborative is seeking teachers with Moderate Disabilities (5-12) certification.
Special Education Teacher responsibilities may include:
- FBA & Development of Positive Behavior Support Plans (including reinforcement systems, visual contracts, etc.)
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors
- Understanding of pragmatics / social skills needs
- Development and modification of curriculum
- Collaboration and integration of therapies
- Assessment of data collection for developing IEPs
- Conduct state and local assessments
- Develop data collection systems to ensure proper reporting of student progress
- Supervise and train paraprofessionals
- Other duties as directed by Program Director
