Position Overview:
As a Medical Billing & Collections Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing patient accounts, ensuring timely claim submissions, and resolving billing issues. Your expertise in medical coding and billing processes will help us maintain efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately code and prepare insurance claims using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS standards.
Process and follow up on denied or unpaid claims to ensure maximum reimbursement.
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including obtaining prior authorizations.
Oversee collections for outstanding patient balances and maintain detailed account records.
Reconcile payments and ensure proper allocation in billing systems.
Collaborate with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams to address billing inquiries.
Stay current with industry regulations and coding updates.
Generate and analyze billing reports to support management decisions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred).
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification (required).
At least 2 years of experience in medical billing and collections.
Strong knowledge of insurance processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers.
Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
