About the Job:
Waypoint's Homeless Youth and Young Adult Program is looking for a courageous leader to manage the Housing and Transitional Living Program. The Housing Manager will oversee operations of FYSB Transitional Housing Programs, HUD CoC Rapid Rehousing Programs, and the Host Home Program. In this leadership role you will serve as a key point of contact for housing-related issues and advocacy, collaborating with community partners, participating in committees, and monitoring trends related to safety, service provision, accessibility, and equity. This role also includes supervising the TLP Supervisor, RRH Coordinators, and the Host Home Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contract monitoring and execution .
- Collaborate with CoC’s, HUD representatives, Accounting Department, and Director to ensure that projects are meeting objectives.
- Fiscal management activities to ensure resources are being used appropriately.
- Reporting requirements to include analysis, synthesis, and quality improvement.
- Co-Lead monitoring visits: HOME, HUD, FYSB.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exhibit strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effectively prioritize and plan tasks to meet competing priorities and deadlines.
- Supervise team members, providing guidance and support to enhance performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address housing concerns and improve program accessibility and equity.
- Assess policies and procedures and work with the HYYA leadership team to make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain relationships with landlords and other community stakeholders. This is particularly important during crisis situations.
- Cover staff vacations as needed.
- Extensive travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field and/or four years of related supervisory work experience.
- Lived Experience: Personal lived experience is highly valued and preferred.
- Financial Knowledge: Moderate understanding of budgeting and grants management is necessary.
- Policy Knowledge: Familiarity with FYSB or HUD policies, procedures, and practices is preferred.
- Management Skills: Experience in management and supervision is preferred.
