WAYS for Life, formerly known as Ready for Life Brevard, is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and drop-in center for youth ages 15-25 in Brevard County, Florida. We provide Wraparound Youth Services (WAYS) to help teens and young adults avoid homelessness and crime. We assist youth in removing barriers to their success by utilizing lifeline support networks.
We help youth find resources and creative solutions to issues such as housing, legal, employment, education, transportation, health care, wellness, and counseling. Job Summary:
The Grant Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the lifecycle of grants awarded to the organization, ensuring compliance with all funding requirements, and maintaining clear and accurate records. The role demands a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with extensive experience managing city, corporate, and federal grants. This individual will collaborate closely with staff, service delivery personnel, the Board of Directors, and community partners to ensure effective grant administration and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Management & Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including federal, state, city, and corporate regulations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive grant files, including contracts, budgets, financial reports, and correspondence.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to grantors, including financial and programmatic updates.
- Collaborate with service delivery staff to collect, record, and report data required for grant performance measures.
- Maintain meticulous documentation to meet audit requirements and respond promptly to grantor inquiries.
- Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact with funders for grant-related matters.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams, ensuring program staff understand and fulfill grant requirements.
- Provide regular updates to the Executive Director and Board of Directors on grant performance and compliance.
- Training & Capacity Building
- Train staff and community partners on grant compliance procedures and reporting requirements.
- Develop and distribute resources, templates, and guides to support consistent grant management practices.
- Deadline Management
- Develop and maintain a detailed grants calendar to track reporting deadlines, renewal applications, and other key dates.
- Proactively address upcoming deadlines and communicate requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing city, corporate, and federal grants.
- Proven track record of successful grant management, including compliance, reporting, and audit readiness.
- Advanced knowledge of grant management software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- High level of detail orientation and ability to synthesize complex information.
- Experience working in a nonprofit environment preferred.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires flexibility, with the ability to work both remotely and onsite as needed.
- Part-time schedule of approximately 10 hours per week.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
