PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Wayside Multi Service Center – Watertown, MA
The Program Director provides overall leadership and operational responsibility for the Wayside Multi Service Center, including all related program development/monitoring, training, fiscal, staffing, and supervisory responsibilities. Multi’s programming includes prevention, outreach, counseling and referral services to the Watertown, Belmont, and Waltham communities. The program includes afterschool youth development and health and wellness promotion, substance use prevention, clinical support for traumatized youth and social services support and referrals.
Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00/year based upon educational background and experience sign-on bonus (half paid after 30 days of employment and the other half paid after 90 days of employment/pro-rated for part-time).
What You will Do:
The Program Director manages all Program Director functions of the Wayside Multi Service Center:
Leadership and Operations: Oversee the daily operations of Wayside Multi-Service Center, ensuring effective service delivery, quality, staffing and record-keeping.
Program Management: Develop and monitor various programs, such as youth development, health and wellness promotion, substance use prevention, and clinical and social service support.
Fiscal Management: Oversee the financials for all grants and contracts, including grant writing and managing annual budgets.
Grant Management: Serve as Manager or Program Director/Principal Investigator for federal and state grants. Function as primary liaison to funders including MA Department of Public Health and U.S. Health and Human Services (SAMHSA, CDC), for budgetary and programmatic issues where needed; attend funder meetings and related events.
Supervision: Overall oversight of staffing, including direct supervision of Coordinators for each grant/contract. Provide adequate supervision on a weekly (or other appropriate) schedule, ensuring that all supervisors have required licensure and/or experience.
Community Engagement: Build and maintain a positive agency presence in the community through events, collaborations, and public relations efforts.
Reporting and Documentation: Oversee service delivery reports and other billing mechanisms, ensuring compliance with all grant and program guidelines.
Site Management: Oversee management of Multi site, including ensuring upkeep of physical plant, equipment, and supplies.
Staff Hiring and Management: Hire staff as needed, follow agency policies, and supervise both staff as well as interns (as needed). Hire and participate in oversight of subcontractors including data collection and evaluation teams.
Professional Development: Maintain professional licensure and participate in all required agency training.

Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or another related human services field and independent license preferred, but not required.
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in direct service with children, adolescents, and families.
Significant knowledge of, and experience with the Watertown/Waltham/Belmont communities is a plus.
