PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Career Representative is responsible for guiding assigned clients through specific job curriculum, job development, placement and job retention process. The Career Representative builds professional relationships with each client to assess their needs, strengths, and areas of opportunity with the goal of finding relevant and sustainable employment.
Location: Haverhill, MA
Schedule for this position: Monday-Friday 8a-4p
Key Activities: (Essential Functions)
- Complete required curriculum with each candidate on a one on one basis, including building a resume, cover letter, practice interview questions, and professional skill development
- Train candidates on job searching techniques and skills as well as assist candidates with applying to positions.
- Develop formal connections with companies and employers in order to market the skills, abilities and qualifications of program participants based on assessed needs and wants. Arrange referral of appropriately matched participants to identified company, attend interviews as needed and facilitate placement.
- Provide job placement follow-up services to both employer and client to ensure job retention, including on-site coaching and support.
- Ensure familiarity and compliance with all program/funding obligations, regulations and requirements, state laws and guidelines, and FH CRC policies, procedure and required trainings (i.e. CPR, First Aid, Human Rights)
Other duties:
- Facilitate group job searching and skill development sessions as needed
- Document meeting notes on each client through department database in a timely and professional manner
- Perform all duties in a manner which demonstrates an awareness and respect for each individuals legal, civic and human rights. Maintain and enforce the confidentiality of any information relating to individuals served.
- Provide transportation as needed to clients
- Maintain a professional and consistent level of communication with supervisor, peers, clients, family members and funding source(s)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Human Services or related field with a minimum of one-year experience working with individuals with significant barriers to employment
- Commensurate experience may be substituted for educational requirements
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Minimum of 1 year of driving experience and a valid drivers license
- Regular and predictable attendance
