What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Test Engineer position at Wayve?
The Role
Wayve's Hardware & Systems Test team is at the intersection of Hardware, Embedded Software and Machine Learning Models. Testing takes place at component, system and vehicle levels. We excel at finding the most efficient and effective way of using our resources to get the most valuable results for the company.
We are looking for a new team member to join our group to help us scale up our efforts across embedded software verification. This role can expand into other areas of the system such as sensing, model behavior testing depending on the needs of the company and the experience of the individual.
Ideal candidate is a self starter and has a keen eye for improvement across multiple engineering domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own, define and execute system functionality verification tests on Wayve’s Embodied AI systems at component, system and vehicle level
- Uncover potential software and hardware bugs through increased test coverage
- Help define and architect Hardware in the Loop (HiL) test stations
- Lead increased test coverage activities using HiL test stations
- Lead root cause analysis of hardware and software issues found during test campaigns.
About You
In order to set you up for success as a System Test Engineer at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.
Essential
- Fundamental understanding of Electrical and Mechanical engineering concepts
- Proven experience in systems level thinking on requirements generation and verification
- Hardware and/or Software testing experience on production systems
Desirable
- Zero-to-One type experience in system test campaign definition and execution
- Expertise in Systems Engineering of robotics systems
- Previous leadership in bringing up a Hardware and Software testing organization
- Experience testing systems written in C , Rust, Python
