What are the responsibilities and job description for the Achievement Specialist position at Wayzata Public Schools?
- provides academic support through data-driven interventions, culturally responsive strategies, and mentorship,
- analyzes standardized test scores to address achievement gaps and guide instructional decisions,
- supports underserved and at-risk students by fostering school connectedness, guiding post-secondary planning, and assisting with scholarships,
- acts as a liaison between home and school, building relationships with parents and organizing meetings,
- collaborates with teachers, Student Support Teams, and PLCs to develop intervention plans and promote equity,
- encourages student advocacy, facilitates discussions on social justice, and promotes positive racial relations, and
- assists with supervision, attendance, and behavior management while ensuring equitable opportunities for student voice and leadership.
- Must have a valid MN Teaching License
- Ideal candidates:
- will have a counselor, social worker, or related license,
- should have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners,
- have the ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents/guardians, and staff,
- are proficient with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring, and
- have experience in a student support role.
