Position Description:
Candidates selected to fill the role of an Elementary Math Specialists for Wayzata Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence. This will be done through the design and delivery of instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners. The Math Specialist will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to develop and implement Tier 2 interventions within the classroom, providing targeted support to students in need. Additionally, the Math Specialist will deliver Tier 3 interventions for students requiring more intensive instruction. This role may also support grade-level PLCs in designing and delivering responsive instruction to enhance student learning outcomes. In addition, the Math Specialist will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community. This position may travel between buildings and yearly building assignments will be dependent on student need based on student assessment data.
