- Assists Associate Principal and Counselors in scheduling students’ classes.
- Maintains student schedules throughout the year.
- Assists in registration process for grades 6-8 including tally counts to determine staffing.
- Registers new students, request and process new student records
- Performs duties associated with withdrawal of students, esp. processing student records.
- Maintains student files, testing information, permanent record cards, directory and class lists.
- Assumes responsibility for archives of withdrawn student files, as well as report card archives for all students who have attended Wayzata Middle Schools.
- Maintains correct census information for the student population.
- Assists in creating and maintaining spreadsheet on locker information, including assigning lockers and responding to locker issues.
- Designs and prepares forms for general office use and for class registration.
- Types, prepares and distributes records, reports, and correspondence related to counseling functions.
- Assists students, counselors and teachers in distribution and collection of various assessment forms requested by parents, physicians etc.
- Assists with planning and coordination conferences, orientation programs for new students.
- Performs receptionist duties including answering and directing phone calls, taking messages, greeting staff, students, parents and visitors.
- Responds to informational requests concerning activities involving secondary schools throughout the district.
- Assists in preparation of standardized testing process and statewide graduation standards testing.
- Handles and processes confidential materials.
- Handles and processes student pictures and identification cards.
- High school diploma and one-year previous office experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to speak effectively before parents, staff, and students.
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality, ability to have several projects running simultaneously and to prioritize.
- Strong computer proficiency
- Develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community, communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
