Position Description:
To perform a variety of basic responsibilities include: selecting, measuring, mixing, finishing and readying products for serving based on standardized recipes or as directed in a manner which contributes to the effective, efficient and safe preparation and delivery of school nutrition products and/or services. To perform duties as assigned to help maintain a coordinated, productive preparation and service operation.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
A. Develops and maintains a good working knowledge of applicable department and District policies and procedures, complying with such policies and procedures as established and communicated.
B. Confers with the immediate supervisor or in-charge individual at the assigned site to ensure a correct and complete understanding of the work to be done, work priorities and any additional important information that should be known.
C. Develops and maintains cooperative, productive workplace relationships in a manner which creates a pleasant environment for all those serving and those being served.
D. Performs a variety of food preparation responsibilities and/or duties of a Food Service Worker as outlined in the position summary per work schedules and according to established procedures / protocols of the department and/or assigned sites.
E. Performs additional, comparable duties related to the preparation, serving and clean up of planned meals for school and/or community special events.
F. Attends designated and approved in-service or out-of-District training classes and workshops to keep current on the field and policies / procedures of the District.
G. Keeps the immediate supervisor or in-charge individual informed of all-important matters to minimize downtime or safety problems.
H. Performs kindred job duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or in-charge individual.
