JOB PURPOSE:

Improve the work areas of MFG to promote a safe and lean working environment. Perform all duties in the Quality and CI department based on business needs. Ideal candidate will have a desire to

ESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Tape floors based on 5S standards
  • Paint walls and improve work areas
  • Perform time studies
  • Prioritize and organize work ensuring that tasks are successfully completed within defined timeframes and meet predetermined deadlines.
  • Learn fundamentals of Lean Six Sigma
  • Perform other duties as assigned

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Practice and model proper safety rules and procedures.
  • Report to and be ready to work at the scheduled start time.
  • Comply with all safety and company policies.
  • Wear proper PPE equipment as required for the area.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience And/or Training:

  • 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Licenses/Certificates: None

Technology/Equipment : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience And/or Training:

  • Quality at the Source
  • Lean Manufacturing

Licenses/Certificates: Six Sigma White Belt

Technology/Equipment : None

Physical And Mental Demands:

Standing for the working hours of each shift, up to 6 hours daily. Walking in the Production department to different areas of work. Speaking, hearing, seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools. Regularly lift 30-50 lbs. throughout shift. Team-lift as specified by leadership. Employees may perform tasks that require bending, twisting, and turning frequently.

Working Environment:

Indoor working environment. Office is temperature-controlled all year round. Production may be hot in the Summer and temperature-controlled in the Winter. Moving machinery, i.e. forklifts, moveable carts, etc.; uneven ground where cart tracks are identified. Air quality may be dusty and potentially require additional PPE in certain areas. Sound level below 85 decibels except in areas specified as requiring hearing protection.
