What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Horse Drive - 3rd Shift position at WB Warehousing & Logistics?
We are currently looking for a Yard Horse/Switcher. This is a full-time, regular position for someone looking to jumpstart their career. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, good attendance record, and a great attitude.
3rd Shift: 10PM to 6AM
Job Duties:
- Moves trailers in a safe and accurate manner.
- Operates various tractor-trailer combinations within the yard and between company holdings.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
- Must work safely and insure all safety requirements are met.
- Able to operate computer / tablet for work assignments.
- Performs safety inspections of the yard horse and trailer according to DOT regulations.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirement.
- Must be available to work overtime and weekends.
- Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Capable of standing, walking and repeatedly climbing into and out of switcher and road tractor.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and reach.
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Required Skills, Abilities and/or Licensure
- Good communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced transportation environment.
- Ability to proficiently communicate both verbally and in written form.
We're willing to train the right candidate who has some experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overnight shift
- Weekends as needed
