Meteorologist

  WCCB Charlotte, the Bahakel Communications, Ltd. station in Charlotte, NC, is looking for a full-time meteorologist. You will work alongside a team of producers on the production of our evening newscasts. This position blends the role of an on-air weather expert with a lot of personality and a drive to dominate digital weather in the Charlotte market. You will develop creative content for broadcast, digital and social.

Qualifications & Requirements:

•       Degree in meteorology is required. An AMS/NWA seal is preferred.

•       Solid forecasting skills.

•       You must be able to analyze weather data, including radar, satellite and computer models.

•       Proficient in creating weather graphics with WSI Max.

•       On-Air presentation: must be able to present clear, confident and engaging weather forecasts.

•       Experience covering severe weather live on various platforms.

•       Ability to produce digital weather content. That includes original stories, weather explainers, weather app updates and daily forecasts.

•       Must have at least three years of experience in a commercial newsroom.
