Position
WCF Insurance Information Technology (IT) department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a Manager, Business Intelligence, reporting to the VP, Data and Business Intelligence. This is a full-time, exempt position that works in the WCF's Sandy, Utah office (NOT REMOTE).
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of business intelligence developers in designing and delivering interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that clearly communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Contribute strategic thought leadership to shape the company's business intelligence vision and standards.
- Empower the WCF BI community through data governance guidance, training, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Apply critical thinking and creativity to innovative design of visualizations that communicate complex concepts.
- Design, build, and optimize data models to support analytics, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.
- Stay current with emerging technologies to identify novel opportunities to improve analytics, automation, and decision-making across the enterprise.
- Manage and provide technical expertise and strategic guidance to direct reports, department peers, and cross-functional team members.
- Create an effective team by establishing objectives, upholding standards, paying attention to details, and fostering the development of each member.
Qualifications
The most qualified candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in business, statistics, data science, or a related field.
- At least five years of related work experience (or nine years of related work experience without a degree.) Insurance experience is a plus.
- At least three years of previous management experience.
- Strong leadership ability to develop team members and work with stakeholders.
- A track record of showing initiative and problem-solving.
- A natural curiosity for data, visualization, and insurance trends, combined with an analytical mindset for critical thinking and drawing meaningful conclusions from complex data.
- Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all BI platforms.
- Strong data visualization design and development skills, preferably with Power BI.
- Effective communication and presentation skills with emphasis on visual and written communication.
WCF Insurance offers an extensive compensation package. All employees earn 4 weeks of vacation in their first year. The expected salary for this position is $103,280-$129,100 depending on location, experience, and education.
Internal candidates should have acceptable job performance, 6 months in their current position, and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.
