POSITION OVERVIEW – Project Expeditor
The Project Expeditor is responsible for expediting the procurement, production and timely delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies ordered by our Clients and Subcontractors (CFCI, OFCI).
As a member of the Team, the Project Expeditor reports to the Project Expediting Lead and Expediting Manager. Works closely with internal clients to facilitate appropriate meetings and discussions to identify potential delays and works with the Expediting Team to develop strategies to recover order delivery gaps.
The Expediting Manager will evaluate the Expediting Team’s critical path (Desk & Field Expediting). Identify expediting activities which must be completed on-time and require close supervision, individually support the recovery of current and potential Supplier delays, promptly allocate or realign resources to support project management needs, and support the Project Expeditors in achieving schedule recovery, and a strong Performance.
We are seeking an individual experienced in Supply Chain Management, Logistics as well as Procurement Expediting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expediting team, 5 expeditors now, each has an awards placed and handles post award activities, PO, and Subcontracts issued.
- Works directly with the buyers to expedite critical issues
- Ensures docs are submitted on time to move to fabrication
- POM, drawings, submittals, etc.
- Provide order expediting and accelerated completion on all assigned order and work packages.
- Provide support and report status on all technical document submissions, approvals, and rejections between and the Supplier/Subcontractor.
- Act as liaison between the Supplier and Procurement, Engineering, Construction, and Materials Management on assigned work packages.
- Expedite the Supplier and Sub-vendors in achieving all PO Milestone dates for order documentation, fabrication, assembly, and delivery (RDD).
- Identity Supplier order bottlenecks and potential delays and support the efforts to close delivery gaps and accelerate Supplier performance where necessary.
- Review Purchase Orders for clarity and accuracy prior to Procurement issuing to supplier.
- Issue Shipment Release Notes (SRN) for all Order Shipments to the project site.
- Resolve with Supplier and track status on all OS&Ds issued by Materials Management.
- Receive and record all Goods Received Notes (GRNs) issued by Materials Management.
- Verify proper TAG numbers, Quantities, Descriptions are included in each PO or Subcontract, and the data aligns with the Project MEL.
- Compile and update (daily & weekly) supplier Performance to RDD, material purchases, Sub-vendor shipment status and shipment release on all assigned orders.
- Submit weekly report (via XSR) to Expediting Management for order progress as well as issues.
- Assist Procurement with expediting efforts in Supplier Prequalifications
- Coordinate with 3PL Warehousing Team and Materials Management on incoming materials and equipment, to include OSM, CFCI, OFCI orders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong logistics, materials management, procurement process, Supply chain management
- Navigate basic access issues, networks, must be tech savvy
- Prior expeditor - plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 5 years of Procurement, Project Expediting, supply Chain Management or Materials Management (Supplier to Field)
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred.
- Experience with tracking and achieving required supplier committal dates on a large project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to identify and relay key contractual obligations and dates between internal project stakeholders and Suppliers/Subcontractors.
- Good understanding of negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Must have excellent computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
