Position Summary
Ensure that Wilsonville Concrete is the “Supplier of Choice” for all customers by following the quality
control program. On a day‐to‐day basis, perform testing related to adherence to quality and other
established company procedures. Additionally, provide independent checks of all requirements prior to
any critical pours to proactively mitigate risk and eliminate errors and oversights.
The Quality Control Manager places the highest priority on safety by setting an example for all
personnel by maintaining and utilizing Personal Protective Equipment, never putting themselves, others,
or equipment in jeopardy, and acts as an advocate for safety at every opportunity.
The Quality Control Manager is a consummate business professional. Treats all personnel with courtesy
and respect and presents self to customers and fellow employees in a professional manner while
maintaining a neat and well‐groomed appearance.
Essential Functions
Safety and Professionalism
Quality Production Practices – Plant efficiency, batching sequence, recordkeeping, and testing
Auditing/Calibrating – Lab equipment, inventory, and process
Job‐Site Servicing – High‐profile and technically complex projects
Troubleshooting and Interaction – Investigate issues and pro‐actively interact with customers.
Mix Design Submittals – Supply test data as required.
Training – Periodic and continuous training for all levels of the organization on Quality and processes
Responsibilities
- Working knowledge of ACI, ASTM, DOT and Regional standards and specifications
- The QA/QC Manager will ensure that the concrete products produced at the job sites meet
the highest possible quality of standards and comply with the various agency specifications
- They will ensure compliance with all appropriate governmental regulations and compliance
of corporate QC/QA policies as applied to the assigned area
- Commitment to participate in company safety program and enforce safe working practices
throughout all areas of operations as part of the management team
- Ensure the manufactured product meets all company and industry standards and customer
specifications prior to release to customer
- Maintain continuous plant certification NRMCA, ACI, DOTD
- Help Develop and maintain plant Quality Systems Manual (QSM) in accordance with
industry standards, market expectations, and plant limitations
- Investigate and establish a root cause analysis for plant audit nonconformance's and
customer complaints and develop and implement the appropriate corrective actions
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, problem-solving, creativity, strategic thinking,
fostering cooperation and teamwork
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse work environment with all levels of employees
- Commitment to building a positive culture
- Supervise, train and guide workers engaged in the inspection and testing activities to
ensure high productivity and high technical integrity
- Prepare, train, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures for all Quality Control Activities
- Participate in all plant inspections inclusive of management, client, and statutory
compliance agencies
- Travel to job site locations when needed to review and report finished quality
Qualifications
Previous experience in either sales or operations management
Professional accreditations in the ready‐mix concrete industry such as ACI or QCT credentials
Extensive experience and ability to use sphere of influence to manage those not directly
accountable to you. Specifically getting the most out of the ready‐mix delivery professionals,
Batch Plant Operator, and aggregate mining operators.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
