IT Network and Systems Engineer:

The IT Network and Systems Engineer is a member of a team responsible for the availability, reliability, performance, and security of the core IT infrastructure that provides the foundation for WCP Solutions day-to-day operations. This position includes responsibilities related to WCP Solutions physical and cloud datacenters, networks, enterprise storage, virtualization infrastructure, and critical infrastructure services and applications.

Essential Functions:

Network Engineering/Architecture:

o Implements and maintains all enterprise network infrastructure, including all WAN, LAN, wireless, and data center networking needs.

o Implements and maintains physical data center resources, including servers, chassis, cabling, and network equipment.

o Implement and manage Azure networking solutions, including Virtual Networks, VPN Gateways, and Azure Firewall.

o Implements and maintains Microsoft and VMWare based virtualization infrastructure, including management of compute/storage/networking resources, high availability configurations such as replication, fail-over clustering, and server provisioning.

o Implements and maintains corporate communications infrastructure for services such as email, telephony, and video conferencing.

o Implements and maintains other critical infrastructure services, including directory services, DNS, file services, and backups.

o Assure that all forms of backups are set up and running properly, including testing restores.

o Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability. Manage SD-WAN circuits to all locations.

Cybersecurity:

o Assure that security policies, protocols, and procedures to protect network and data assets are followed. Responsible for PCI compliance.

o Work with 3rd parties to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security risks.

o Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security incidents.

o Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends and threats, applying best practices to mitigate risks.

o Assure that all servers are up to date with respect to operating systems and intrusion protections.

Collaboration & Documentation:

o Follows established change management procedures and creates and maintains network and system architecture diagrams and documentation.

o Provide training and support to staff on network security best practices and Office 365 usage.

o Works with IT Help Desk to ensure timely and proper resolution of service desk incidents/problems that require escalation.

o Provides on-call support for all areas of responsibility.

o Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent experience in a related field.

o Minimum of 3 years’ network and system infrastructure administration experience in a business environment having at least 100 network devices.

o Hands-on experience with Azure networking services, Cisco Meraki solutions, Office 365 administration, and Veeam backups.

o Ability to manage and automate infrastructure using scripting, such as PowerShell or other languages.

o Experience configuring and supporting current versions of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server, Teams, and Exchange.

o Experience maintaining and troubleshooting a highly available virtualized infrastructure based on Hyper-V or VMWare.

o Experience maintaining enterprise grade SAN and NAS (NFS/CIFS/ISCSI) storage technologies.

o Experience in administration of firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and network cabling.

o Current infrastructure, network, or security certifications preferred.

o Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

o Azure Cloud infrastructure experience preferred.

o Entra ID and Office 365/Microsoft 365 experience preferred.

o IBM i or AS/400 experience a plus.

o Occasional travel expected to assure our various locations are set up correctly.
