Summary :
Join the team in our Portland Converting Division and begin your career with us by filling customer orders in our converting division. Get Forklift certified and training on specialty sheeting equipment. Contribute to the overall success of the Paper Converting Division by assisting Sheeter and Rewinder Operators and coordinators in quality control for customer orders. Enjoy your personal time with friends / family by having a consistent and reliable schedule M-F, 5 : 30 am to 2 : 00 pm , with the opportunity for overtime. Essential Functions :
o Aid in sheeting / converting operations in accordance with the production schedules set by coordinator.
o Conduct quality control measures at various stages of sheeting and rewinding processes to ensure the highest quality of finished product.
o Maintain a clean work environment; follow proper safety procedures and perform all job duties in a safe manner.
o Prepare finished goods for shipping by correctly tagging, strapping and wrapping finished products on pallets and moving them to the staging area.
Other Functions :
o Participate in weekly / quarterly inventory reconciliation including bin locations, product identifications, and adjustments.
o Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications :
o Previous work experience in a converting operation preferred but not required.
o Good basic math skills required.
o Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and current versions of MS Office
Knowledge, skills, and abilities :
o Detail oriented, able to work with little direct supervision; well organized.
o Able to work well under pressure and in an environment full of deadlines, providing accurate output.
o Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment as directed.
o Ability to detect paper quality issues and bring them to the attention of the operator or lead.
o An understanding of different grades of substrates and potential or real sheeting issues.
o Ability to operate a paper roll clamp truck and lift up to 6,000 pounds 18 feet high without damaging product.
o Ability to apply safety requirements and principles clearly understand / accordingly, maintain a clean work environment.
o Ability to operate a computer terminal.
Working Conditions :
o Able to lift up to 50 lbs. or more waist high on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs.in team lift on an occasional basis.
o Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; able to bend, stoop and kneel on a frequent basis.
o Warehouse and mechanized environment subject to extremes in temperature.
o Overtime is available on an occasional basis.
o Frequent use of basic warehouse and delivery equipment (i.e. forklift, picker, pallet jack, etc.)
