Job Function :
- Provides medical oversight and medical assessment of all people that attend the Day Habilitation to ensure their safety and well-being
- Provide continuous training and support to the staff in order for them to efficiently meet each person’s medical needs
- Administer first aid as needed or instruct staff on necessary medical interventions
- Reviews all medical records and paperwork, including annual physicals and medical visit appointments, on a regular basis and following doctor’s orders as prescribed
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure all medical concerns are addressed
- Acts as a liaison with the family, residences and MD to coordinate care
- Ensure that all medical documentation is comprehensive and conforms with agency policies and procedures and is maintained in the person’s medical chart
- Ensure implementation of all new medical policies and procedures by training staff and observation of practices
