Truck Driver Responsibilities
As a Class A CDL Truck Driver at WCTractor, you will play a vital role in transporting agriculture and construction equipment and lawn mowers to and from customer locations, store locations, and job sites. You’ll be responsible for safe loading, securing, transporting, and unloading a variety of equipment using ¾-ton trucks up to 18-wheelers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, secure, and transport tractors, construction equipment, and lawn mowers safely and efficiently
- Deliver equipment to customer locations, WCTractor stores, and job sites
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery details, and vehicle maintenance
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips to ensure compliance with DOT safety standards
- Plan routes to ensure on-time deliveries while following regulations on weight limits, parking, and break periods
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members to ensure smooth delivery operations
- Report mechanical issues, accidents, or safety concerns in a timely manner
Class A CDL Truck Driver (Local) Qualifications
Qualifications
✅ Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
✅ Proven experience transporting agriculture and/or construction equipment preferred
✅ Strong understanding of DOT regulations and truck driving safety standards
✅ Ability to properly load, secure, and unload heavy equipment
✅ Excellent communication and time-management skills
✅ Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Work performed in a vehicle, shop, or outdoor environment with exposure to temperature changes
- Ability to lift up to 70-100 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Good vision and hearing for safety compliance and equipment troubleshooting
- Requires walking, standing, stooping, and handling materials on a regular basis
- Must maintain a valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) and meet all DOT certification requirements
