About the Role
As a Yard Porter at WCTractor, you’ll be an essential part of creating the first impression customers have of our location. You’ll support store operations by keeping equipment clean and organized, maintaining the grounds, and helping with the flow of inventory and displays. This role is hands-on and active — ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying busy, and being a team player.
Key Responsibilities

Clean equipment inventory using the wash rack and wipe down machines as needed

Move, stage, and organize equipment and displays in the yard and showroom

Perform general yard maintenance such as mowing, edging, and minor repairs

Assist with facility upkeep across the shop, yard, and store as needed

Run errands and assist with parts or service pickups

Support the service and sales teams with equipment movement and organization

Strap equipment onto trailers or assist with loading and unloading

Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures

Other duties as assigned
Yard Porter Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a limited time frame
- Ability to operate (or learn to operate) 6000 LB to 8000 LB A/T Forklift rig, agricultural, turf and light construction equipment.
- Ability to strap or learn to strap equipment to trailers as needed
- Attention to detail
- Basic computer skills
Working Conditions
- Work normally performed in a shop and outdoor setting. May be required to work weekends
- Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record. May be required to maintain a valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) and certification requirements for operating material handling equipment as necessary
- May require ability to travel
Physical Requirements
- Must continually be able to lift and handle heavy loads up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time if performing service repairs
- Must be able to tolerate temperature shifts inherent to a shop environment and be outdoors in all types of weather
- The position may require walking, standing, stooping and transporting materials or parts on a regular basis, up to OSHA limits
