Job Summary: The Claims Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, administering and overseeing insurance claims for accidents and the workers compensation program. This position ensures timely, efficient, and accurate handling of claims and plays a crucial role in continuous process improvement and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
Use good judgment interpreting facts presented in both work-related injury and auto accident claims and managing confidential information
Reviews and evaluates all work-related accident reports for completeness and clarity of data and analyzes data as needed to ensure compliance with policy
Promptly investigate and submit claims to insurance provider
Maintains a strong working knowledge of regulatory and jurisdictional requirements
Demonstrates technical proficiency through timely, consistent execution of best claim practices and established guidelines
Communicates professionally internally and externally on all claims
Effectively manages all claim processes to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes
Prepare all necessary forms, records and documentation, to include statistical analysis and reports, for all claims as required by various regulatory agencies
Generate, audit, and file accident reports and conduct off-site accident investigations when necessary
Schedule medical evaluations as required
Oversee the processing of insurance claims and assist with any documentation
Administration of learning management system
Provide statistical information and reports to management
Assist during on-site emergencies and accidents
Conduct official safety audits or inspections
Rewards program administration
Responsible for the collection of drug and alcohol screening tests and maintaining certification per regulations
Provide after-hours support as needed (Per On-Call Schedule)
Travel as needed
Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s license in state of residency with acceptable driving record
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol program
Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Google Workspace
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external staff
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred:
Two years related experience in claims processing or workers compensation
Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and best practices

Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment, a commercial motor vehicle terminal environment, and outdoors, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office/CMV equipment. Exposure to various climate conditions, fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease, and gasses.
