Weekend Dog Walker / Pet Sitter

We are seeking several reliable and responsible individuals to join our team as Weekend Dog Walkers/Pet Sitters in Guilford to care for pets while their owners are away from home. In this position, you will be responsible for providing exercise and companionship to dogs, cats and other animals in our care, as well as be willing to clean up after them.

Flexible schedule with rotating shifts.

Duties:

• Walk dogs on a regular basis, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Engage in playtime activities with dogs and other pets to promote physical and mental stimulation
• Provide basic care for dogs and cats, including feeding and watering (medication administration experience is a plus)
• Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste properly
• Scoop cat litter / change bags in auto-litter bots and dispose of waste properly
• Monitor pets for any signs of distress or illness and report to the supervisor
• Follow specific instructions provided by owners regarding their pets' care and behavior
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for both the dogs and yourself during walks
• Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, addressing any concerns or questions they may have

Qualifications:

• LOVE both dogs and cats
• Have experience with dogs and their behavior with the ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments (your own pets count!)
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
• Physical stamina to walk multiple dogs for extended periods of time
• Ability to handle heavy lifting, as some dogs may be large or require assistance
• Be professional, neat and tidy in clients' homes
• Be able to work independently and take initiative
• Have a smartphone and be tech-savvy
• Have excellent communication skills & grammar
• Own a reliable vehicle with valid license, registration & insurance; have a willingness to transport dogs in said vehicle
• Be local to the community. You must live in Guilford or Madison.
• Be Pet CPR/First-Aid certified or willing to take a class
• Be able and willing to work with us for at least a year. The pets & clients will want to develop a long-term relationship with you.
• Be available on rotation to dog walk/pet sit on holidays, as needed
• Pass a criminal / background check

YOU MUST LIVE LOCAL TO THE TOWN(S) WHERE JOB IS LOCATED as it requires travel between visits. Candidates must be willing and able to drive and work in all types of weather. Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work year-round. Must be comfortable interacting with customers, entering customers' homes and handling alarm systems.
