POSITION SUMMARY: The Inventory Transaction Clerk plays a crucial role in
managing and recording inventory transactions to ensure accurate inventory control in a
fast-paced metals manufacturing environment. This position requires a strong
understanding of inventory processes, attention to detail, and proficiency in data entry
and JMAS systems to maintain seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
o Accurately record and process inventory transactions, including receipts,
transfers, and adjustments.
o Monitor and update inventory levels in the JMAS system to reflect real-
time accuracy.
o Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure alignment with system
records.
Data Entry and Reporting:
o Enter and verify data related to inventory movements with a high degree
of accuracy.
o Generate inventory reports, including transaction histories and
reconciliation summaries, using Excel and JMAS software.
System Proficiency:
o Utilize JMAS systems to manage and track inventory activities efficiently.
o Troubleshoot discrepancies between physical and system records and
resolve issues promptly.
Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to ensure
timely and accurate inventory updates.
o Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding
inventory-related inquiries.
Compliance and Accuracy:
o Adhere to company policies and procedures to maintain accurate records
and ensure compliance with audit standards.
o Maintain organized and up-to-date records for easy access and review.
Other Duties:
o Provide backup support for the Inventory Clerks to maintain workflow
continuity.
o Assist with additional tasks assigned by management to support overall
operational needs.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in inventory management or a related role within a
manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in using JMAS systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong data entry skills with a focus on speed and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a metals manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with inventory control best practices and cycle counting.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged sitting and occasional lifting
of materials up to 20 pounds.
Work in a manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and varying
temperatures while adhering to established safety protocols.
Work Hours:
Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM -3:30 PM.
During the two annual inventory periods, hours are adjusted to 6:30 AM- 3:00
PM.
