Position Overview
The maintenance manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within our facility, including developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing maintenance supervisor(s), ensuring compliance with safety standards, managing budgets, and monitoring equipment efficiency to minimize downtime and optimize asset lifespan in addition to managing all activities related to repairing and maintaining of our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing maintenance strategies that align with organizational goals and implement them effectively.
- Set and maintain departmental budget by reviewing financial statements; monitoring line efficiencies; monitoring labor cost; and other expenses
- Oversee and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Manages the maintenance team to ensure that adequate machinery is available for the production team.
- Develop adequate maintenance and reliability initiatives focused on preventive and predictive maintenance vs reactive maintenance.
- Identify and prioritize major maintenance issues with production and initiate and develop action plans to resolve these issues in collaboration with production.
- Develop and implement strategies for equipment upgrades and the introduction of new technologies.
- Prepare and present performance reports to senior management, highlighting the impact of lean and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) management.
- Promote a safe work environment and promote proper lock-out tag-out tag out procedures as required. Manage all OSHA-required training as required and correct any unsafe conditions as necessary.
- Manage and motivate maintenance team, including reviewing performance, providing feedback on daily production schedule results, and employee relations
- Practice safe work habits. Follow proper lock-out tag-out tag out procedures as required. Completes all OSHA-required training as required and corrects any unsafe conditions as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Quality Systems as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: A minimum of five years in maintenance food manufacturing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, logistics, or equivalent
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear guidance, feedback, and documentation.
- Problem-Solving: Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work cohesively with cross-functional teams, fostering a cooperative and team-oriented work environment.
- Conflict Management: Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts professionally and respectfully, particularly in high-pressure situations.
- Adaptability: Flexible schedule availability, including weekends when needed.
