Position Overview:

The Quality Engineer (QE) ensures that the organization’s processes and procedures follow all product safety and quality requirements, including compliance with all regulatory requisites.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage internal CAPA system and related documentation from investigation through resolution (NC tracking, SCARs vendor defect tracking, internal citations, and customer complaints).
  2. Identify and trend appropriate metrics and present reports on systems.
  3. Participate in the review and understanding of quality control/assurance requirements based on customer’s documents as well applicable industry standards, to implement the processes required to ensure the quality of products at the first time.
  4. Participate in activities related to customer’s complaints, rejections and reworks, including the internal recalls, providing an effective, efficient, and prompt response to the customers.
    1. This includes function such as:
  1. Manage the coordination /execution of applicable containment actions on finished product as well components (if applicable)
  2. Responsible for communicating Quality Alerts, including to/from other sites.
  1. Perform failure analysis on the defective product(s) and documental review of quality and operation records to determine the presence of a defective condition.
  2. Participate on the review / improvement of test and inspection methods and equipment to assure compliance of products per customer specifications, as well the optimization of

methods and systems for the performance of product testing and inspection, including the standardization of records.

  1. Support QC functions / personnel performing the troubleshooting on non-conforming product / material, to determine the presence of defect, the acceptance or rejection condition of the product/material.
  2. Partner with QA Management and Operations to address and escalate in a timely manner, if required, any issues that may arise during shift period.
  3. Communicate to department heads on the program provisions put in place to prevent reoccurrence.
  4. Attends Food Safety meetings and reports on CAPA implementation and food safety related trends.
  5. Manage the verification of implemented corrective actions to assure the quality of the product tested by QA Technicians will detect non-conforming products.
  6. Support the development and review of training material related with the functions of inspection and testing of product.
  7. Participate in the execution/control of strategic projects, such as implementation and management of the QMS, New Product Development Program, Validation requirements, etc.
  8. Maintains a customer service and quality focused environment.
  9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or any other scientific discipline.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in the packaging industry.
  3. ASQ Quality Engineer Certification is highly desirable.
  4. Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify root causes of issues.
  6. Proven conflict resolution skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
