What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at We R One Family Home, Inc?
Staff is responsible for providing services directly to the residents residing in the program & as such but not limited to:
- Must have DSP 1&2 certificates prior to applying
- Responsible for the training, care & supervision of assigned participants
- Responsible for assisting residents in following daily schedule of activities
- Responsible for carrying out instructional activities in accordance with each participant's IPP & ISP (including FBA)
- Responsible for collecting & recoding reliable behavioral & skills date
- Responsible for taking participants out in the community as scheduled
- Responsible for recoding daily progress notes
- Responsible for completing special incident reports when needed
- Responsible for maintaining participants health & safety AT ALL TIMES
- Responsible for notifying program administrator immediately if any significant problems occur
- Responsible for helping participants to keep their personal property clean & neat
- Responsible for maintaining resident confidentiality & respecting resident privacy maintaining residents rights
- Responsible for keeping the home neat & clean
- Responsible for helping participants to store their personal belongings
- Responsible for dispensing participants medications as prescribed
- Responsible for completing staff orientation in their first week of hire
- Responsible for attending in-service training as scheduled
Required Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma required
- A minimum one-year experience working with special needs, medically fragile, and/or developmentally disabled population, preferably in a residential setting
- DSP 1, DSP 2, CPI, CPR & First Aid certification required
- Valid CA Driver License with a minimum of three (2) years good driving history
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Meet all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility
- Attend and complete all initial and on-going training requirements
- Bilingual (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
