We are seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician with a strong background in industrial chemical processing equipment and controls. This role is based in an automated batch manufacturing plant environment and requires hands-on leadership in overseeing daily plant maintenance and capital projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot electro-mechanical issues in the plant with a 24/7 support mentality to ensure continuous production operations.
- Coordinate activities of outside contractors and service companies, including site-specific safety training.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and reliability maintenance programs.
- Manage critical spare part inventory and requisition necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Work closely with production teams to provide technical expertise and support for optimal efficiency and quality.
- Participate in technical meetings, new product introductions, and project-based meetings with the Research, Production, and Quality departments.
- Lead capital projects to support operational goals.
- Train employees on the proper use and care of equipment.
- Implement plant optimization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Enforce safety, quality, and environmental procedures in alignment with safety policies.
Required Skills:
- Strong electro-mechanical skills, including experience with 120-480V power systems, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- 7-10 years of hands-on maintenance experience in industrial facilities.
- Proven experience with implementing Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Programs for rotating equipment and process instrumentation.
- Excellent computer skills, including AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Project Management Software, ERP systems, and PowerPoint (a plus).
- Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of safe work practices, incident investigation, permit-to-work systems, and safety/environmental regulations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with teams, customers, suppliers, and management.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 support environment for plant and customer issues/emergencies.
- Welding experience (a plus).
- Forklift training and rigging experience (a plus).
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Capable of working at heights, sitting/walking for extended periods, squatting/kneeling, and climbing stairs/ladders.
- Able to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.).
- Able to grip, grasp, pinch, and reach overhead.
