Since then, We The People Action Fund and We The People Michigan have been organizing across the state in support of this living, evolving vision.About the Position : WTPAF seeks a Facilities Coordinator who will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing activities related to the facilities of the organization. This role ensures a safe, functional, and clean environment for our staff, and those of the other mission-driven organizations that will share the space with WTPAF. The Facilities Coordinator oversees both interior and exterior facilities, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality through driving between Detroit and Kalamazoo offices, and remotely managing the needs of an office in Sault Saint Marie. The Facilities Coordinator will report to the Operations Manager.Primary Responsibilities : Ensure an efficient, inviting, and supportive office environment for staff and visitors in our Detroit and Kalamazoo offices, the majority of the work being at the Detroit office. The Coordinator also will be responsible for tracking inventory, overseeing facilities maintenance, and ensuring the proper supplies are available at the Sault Ste. Marie office.Monitor office supplies and order new materials, furniture, appliances, and electronics, as required.Oversee the provision of housekeeping and maintenance services to keep the offices clean and safe, and appliances in working order.Support logistics, scheduling, and coordination of events hosted at the offices.Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for facility-related services, such as providing quotes for a roof, door, and other large maintenance projects. Schedule and supervise maintenance and repair work, ensuring timely and efficient completion.Be available for short notice troubleshooting and events on weekends and evenings in person at the Kalamazoo and Detroit Office, and remotely at the Sault Ste. Marie office.Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications and Skills : Have a deep commitment to the values and vision of WTPAF.Have a valid driver's license and working vehicle available to drive between Detroit and Kalamazoo, occasionally with short notice.Physically able to lift heavy items in order to clean, maintain and organize.Able to independently use the internet to efficiently research, vet, develop quotes, and create proposals for contractors, building repair, and other services.Have strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly, with excellent attention to detail.Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.Have excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Be a team player, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Have excellent written and oral communication skills. Have solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.Have experience working with diverse teams and understanding of organizational culture.Be committed to anti-racist principles and practices.Have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience, ideally at a mission-driven organization.Proficient in basic Google suite applications, email, drive, etc. Work Environment & Expectations : Location : Based in Detroit, Michigan or the Metro Detroit area, with frequent trips to Kalamazoo. This location is required. Schedule : Standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends as events, maintenance, and facilities emergencies arise. Compensation & Benefits : Salary : Starting at $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Annual salary adjustments based on federal COLA, not exceeding 5%, budget permitting.Benefits : 100% employer-paid health insurance for employees and 75% for eligible family members. 100% employer-paid dental and vision insurance for employees and family members. 401(k) plan with a 5% employer match.
